To ensure sensor accuracy, each Sensedge Mini sensor module is carefully designed to calculate its sensor health and lifespan based upon hours of usage and concentration of pollutants it’s been exposed to.
Sensor health is symbolized by a percentage score and can be accessed in the Configuration Tool, the Kaiterra Web App, and by the sensor module status lights above the sensor module bays. When the sensors need to be replaced, the sensor module status lights will turn red.
When it comes time to change, the Sensedge Mini’s hot-swappable sensors take just seconds to remove and replace to maintain continuous monitoring data collection. For detailed instructions on how to change the sensors for the Sensedge Mini, please read here.
Note:
Our recommendation for regular sensor replacement is every 1.5 - 2 years. However, if your project installation involves applying for building certification(s), such as WELL v2 or RESET, we recommend you review your certification’s calibration requirements. They typically require annual sensor recalibration, which means that you will need to change your sensor modules every 12 months to meet the requirements.
