Why don’t my Laser Egg readings match local AQI stations near me?
There are a couple of potential reasons why your Laser Egg AQI does not match online sources:
- The local AQI station is using a different AQI standard than the Laser Egg. If you are using a different AQI standard, you will get a different reading, even if the pollutant levels and measurements are the same. You can change the AQI setting on the Laser egg settings page.
- Calculation methods can vary by location and country. Pollutants may be measured hourly or on a 24-hour moving average depending on the source. It’s difficult to say how other sources or apps calculate their AQIs or where they get their readings, which may lead to different results.
