Sensedge Go Setup: Start Here

This article is the starting point for setting up a new Sensedge Go. It points you to the guided setup wizard, lists what you need before you begin, and links to the detailed guides for gateways, network access, and adding devices to the Kaiterra Data Platform. Use it the first time you install a Sensedge Go, or whenever you add gateways and devices to an existing building.

Start here: the guided setup wizard

The Sensedge Go setup wizard walks you through the full installation, step by step, in the correct order. It is the fastest way to get a new deployment online. Open it, follow the prompts, and refer back to this article or the linked guides if you need more detail on any step.

Open the Sensedge Go setup wizard

Before you start

Have the following ready before you open the wizard. Confirming these first prevents most setup delays.

    • A Kaiterra Data Platform account with your building and spaces already created. If you do not have access to your account, contact your Kaiterra Sales or Success representative to set it up before installation.

What the setup wizard covers

The wizard follows the same sequence as the full Sensedge Go and Gateway Configuration Guide:

  1. Download and open the Kaiterra Installation app.
  2. Sign in and navigate to your building.
  3. Set up your gateway and confirm it connects.
  4. Configure your Sensedge Go devices.
  5. Assign devices to spaces.
  6. Confirm data is reporting to the Kaiterra Data Platform.

Once your devices report data, you can add and manage them from the dashboard. See How to add a device to your Kaiterra Data Platform.

Network requirements

Each gateway needs outbound access to Kaiterra's cloud, firmware, and time servers. Before install, give your network or IT team the exact domains and ports so they can allowlist them. The full list, by gateway model, is in What servers and ports does the Sensedge Go need? To verify a site before or during setup, run the Kaiterra Network Checker.

Static IP configuration on gateways

Some networks require a static IP address on the gateway rather than DHCP. Static IP is not configured in the setup wizard or the Installation app. Kaiterra can set this up for you.

To request static IP configuration for your gateways, contact Kaiterra Support with your building name and the gateway details through the support ticket form. Include the static IP address, subnet mask, gateway address, and DNS servers your network team wants applied.

If you run into trouble

If a gateway cannot be found, a device will not connect, or data is not reporting, start with these:
