WELL’s performance guidelines require that air quality measurements be logged at specific minimum intervals to ensure reliable, actionable insights for both compliance and occupant health. Kaiterra monitors are designed to exceed these requirements.
Meeting WELL Data Logging Frequency Requirements
WELL mandates that air quality measurements be logged at defined intervals to support ongoing performance verification:
- General parameters (PM2.5, PM10, CO₂, CO, O₃, NO₂, TVOCs, temperature, relative humidity): Logged at least every 15 minutes.
- Radon: Logged at least every 1 hour.
These intervals are outlined in the Continuous Monitoring Protocols of the WELL Performance Verification Guidebook and form the foundation of WELL compliance reporting.
Kaiterra Device Capabilities
Kaiterra monitors not only meet but exceed WELL’s data logging and reporting requirements, providing minute-by-minute measurements for all supported air quality and thermal comfort parameters.
This excludes radon, which we don’t currently support monitoring for. Radon monitoring, listed under Feature A01, Part 4 (Meet Thresholds for Radon), is only required for certain projects, typically those without mechanical ventilation or those that do not meet the ventilation guidelines specified in A03 Part 1. Many mechanically ventilated projects automatically satisfy this requirement without the need for additional radon measurements.
For projects that do require radon data, compliance can be achieved in two ways:
- Continuous monitoring using a WELL-approved third-party radon sensor
- Performance testing during the verification phase
This flexibility allows project teams to select the approach best suited to their building type and certification pathway.

Advantages of higher-frequency logging:
- Captures short-term fluctuations (e.g., spikes in TVOC from cleaning).
- Supports real-time awareness tools like kiosks, dashboards, and alerts.
- Future-proofs projects against updates to WELL or other certification programs.
Submitting Data to WELL Using the Kaiterra WELL Compliance Report
To demonstrate compliance with WELL data logging requirements, projects must provide a record of continuous air quality measurements. Kaiterra simplifies this through the WELL Compliance Report.
For a detailed, step-by-step guide on generating, exporting, and submitting your WELL Compliance Report, including device selection, report review, and CSV submission, please read our full support article: How Do I Export IAQ Data and Submit to WELL Using Kaiterra?.
